YMCA seeking nominees for Teen Character Awards

The public is invited to nominate a teen who is making a difference in the lives of others to receive a YMCA Teen Character Award.

“The Y Teen Character Awards recognize teens that demonstrate the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility,” YMCA officials said in a press release. “These awards are an important way to recognize teens that have made positive changes in their lives and in our community. Teens that win an award are able to put their award on college and employment applications.”

Any adult can to nominate a teen they feel deserves recognition by filling out the nomination form and turning it in to the YMCA of the Northwoods on or before March 16.

The YMCA Teen Character awards ceremony will be held Monday, April 16.

Nomination forms can be found on the Y website or can be picked up at the YMCA. In order to be eligbile for the award, teens must be between 12 and 18 years of age, enrolled or homeschooled as a Junior or Senior of this school year, and live in either Oneida, Vilas, Forest or Northern Lincoln counties.
