Nature Fair to feature Raptor Education Group, Inc.

This June, we challenge you to go wild!

Do something wild every day during June and feel happier, healthier and more connected to nature.  Scientists have been able to demonstrate that nature is good for us.  It can and will greatly improve our physical and mental health.

BUT, nature is also FUN!  It is filled with weirdness and wonder. In Forest County we are lucky enough to be surrounded by nature, but much of the time we do not notice it. 30 DAYS WILD is a challenge to do something different in nature for thirty straight days. Don’t feel bad if don’t do something every day, but try …. it’ll be fun! You won’t only learn new things about the plants and animals and the natural environment around us, you’ll also probably learn new things about you. You can learn new ways to listen and look and relax and think.

Join us at Forest County’s 30 Days Wild Kickoff and Nature Fair event scheduled for Tuesday, June 5th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m at the Crandon Public Library.  Families can learn about local trails and opportunities for outdoor exploration, get hands-on experience with weird critters and carnivorous plants and other goodies.  Local experts from Trees for Tomorrow, the Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition, UW-Extension, Forest County Health Department and others are excited to share their love of nature with Forest county’s youth and families.

We will have two scheduled live bird presentations by The Raptor Education Group, Inc at 5:00 and 6:00, otherwise you can drop by any time between 4:00 and 7:00 to experience the other displays and activities.  No registration is required to attend this free event.
